Pecan Springs Ranch

Pecan Springs Ranch is a 17-acre wedding and events venue situated in the heart of Texas Hill Country, just a few miles from downtown Austin.

The property was first established as a working pecan orchard in the early 1900s, and over time, it has evolved into one of the premier event venues in the region. The rich history and natural beauty of the ranch make it a popular destination for couples looking to tie the knot, families celebrating milestones, and corporations hosting meetings and retreats.

The earliest known records of the land that would become Pecan Springs Ranch date back to the 1860s, when it was part of a larger parcel of land granted to Thomas O. Huling by the state of Texas.

Huling was a prominent figure in Austin during the mid-19th century, and his legacy can still be seen in several historic buildings throughout the city, including the Huling Building in downtown Austin.

By the turn of the 20th century, the land that would become Pecan Springs Ranch was owned by the Smith family, who began planting pecan trees on the property in the early 1900s. Visit this site

The Smiths were one of several families in the Austin area who recognized the potential of the region’s fertile soil and abundant water resources for growing pecans, and by the 1920s, Central Texas had become one of the largest producers of pecans in the world.

Over the next several decades, the Smith family continued to cultivate the pecan orchard, which eventually grew to encompass more than 2,000 trees. The family sold their pecans at the Austin Farmers’ Market, where they developed a loyal customer base that appreciated the quality of their nuts.

In the late 20th century, as Austin began to expand and develop, the Smith family recognized the value of their land as a potential event venue. They began hosting small gatherings and weddings on the property, and in 1996, they officially opened Pecan Springs Ranch as an events venue.

Over the years, Pecan Springs Ranch has hosted a wide range of events, from intimate weddings to large-scale corporate retreats. The venue has earned a reputation as one of the most beautiful and versatile event spaces in the region, thanks in large part to the natural beauty of the property itself.
