Lake Travis Zipline Adventures

Lake Travis Zipline Adventures is an outdoor adventure company that offers visitors an exhilarating experience of ziplining through the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

The foundation of Lake Travis Zipline Adventures can be traced back to the early 2010s, when Mike Drury, a real estate broker and businessman, came up with the idea of building a zipline course in the Austin area.

Drury had been looking for a new business venture to invest in, and after experiencing ziplining during a trip to Costa Rica, he became convinced that a zipline course would be a popular and exciting attraction in Central Texas. He scouted potential locations for the course and eventually settled on a site near Lake Travis, a scenic reservoir that is a popular destination for outdoor recreation.

Drury partnered with Doug Pearson, an experienced zipline builder, to design and construct the course. They spent months researching and planning the project, which would feature multiple zip lines stretching over two miles of the Hill Country terrain. In addition to the ziplines, the course would include sky bridges, rappelling stations, and other elements to create a full outdoor adventure experience. More

The construction of the zipline course began in 2011 and took several months to complete. The process involved clearing the land, installing towers and platforms, and stringing cables for the ziplines. The course was designed to be safe and environmentally friendly, with measures such as special braking systems and careful attention to the impact on the surrounding ecosystem.

Once the course was built, Lake Travis Zipline Adventures opened for business in early 2012. The company quickly became a popular attraction for locals and tourists alike, with visitors coming from all over Texas and beyond to experience the thrill of flying through the air on a zipline. The course offers a variety of ziplines with different lengths and heights, as well as breathtaking views of Lake Travis and the surrounding hills.

In addition to the zipline course, Lake Travis Zipline Adventures also offers other outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. The company has a team of experienced guides who lead visitors through the course and provide instructions on the equipment and safety procedures.

Over the years, Lake Travis Zipline Adventures has expanded and improved its offerings, adding new zip lines and other elements to the course, as well as new activities and packages for visitors. The company has also received numerous awards and accolades for its high-quality customer service and commitment to safety and environmental sustainability.

Today, Lake Travis Zipline Adventures is a well-established and highly respected outdoor adventure company with a reputation for providing an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages and backgrounds. The foundation of the company was built on a combination of innovation, creativity, and a passion for outdoor adventure, and that spirit continues to drive the company today. Read this article
